Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Matchmaking Lab! By accessing or using our matchmaking service at matchmakinglab.base44.app (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

Eligibility

Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to use this Service. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are 18 years of age or older.

Capacity

You represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms and to use the Service in accordance with all applicable laws.

Account Creation and Profile

Profile Information

When you create a profile, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
• Use your real name and authentic photos
• Not impersonate any person or entity
• Not create multiple accounts

Profile Content

You are responsible for all content you submit, including:

• Profile text and descriptions
• Photographs and images
• Responses to matches
• Communications through our SMS system

SMS/Text Messaging Terms

Consent to Receive SMS

By checking the SMS consent box and providing your mobile phone number, you expressly consent to receive text messages from Matchmaking Lab at the number you provided.

Types of Messages

You will receive the following types of SMS messages:

1. Match Proposals: Notifications about potential matches who may be a good fit for you
2. Profile Links: Secure, password-protected links to view potential matches' profiles
3. Availability Checks: Messages asking if you are currently dating or available
4. Profile Review Requests: Requests for your interest level after viewing a match's profile
5. Introduction Messages: Contact information for both parties when there is mutual interest
6. Date Coordination: Messages to help schedule first dates
7. Follow-up Messages: Check-ins about how dates went and ongoing interest
8. Service Updates: Occasional updates about the Service, new features, or important changes

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your match activity level, number of potential matches available, and your responses and engagement level. You may receive anywhere from 0 to 10 messages per week, with higher volume during active matching periods.

Message and Data Rates

Standard message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier's plan. Matchmaking Lab is not responsible for any charges you may incur from your mobile carrier for receiving text messages.

• T-Mobile
• Verizon
• Sprint
• U.S. Cellular
• Metro PCS
• Boost Mobile

Opt-Out Instructions

You can opt-out of receiving SMS messages at any time by:

2. Reply UNSUBSCRIBE: Text UNSUBSCRIBE to (646) 347-5578
3. Contact Us: Call or text (646) 347-5578 to request opt-out
4. Update Settings: Disable SMS notifications in your profile settings

After you opt-out, you will receive one final confirmation message and will no longer receive marketing or promotional messages. You may still receive critical transactional messages related to active matches.

To opt back in to SMS messages after opting out:

• Submit a new profile with SMS consent

How the Service Works

Matching Process

1. Profile Creation: You create a detailed profile with your information and preferences
2. Match Identification: Our matchmaker reviews profiles and identifies potential matches
3. Initial Contact: We send an SMS to ask if you are available and interested
4. Profile Sharing: If interested, we send a secure link to view the match's full profile
5. Mutual Interest: If both parties are interested, we share contact information
6. Date Coordination: We help facilitate scheduling the first date
7. Follow-up: We check in after dates to see how things went

Your Obligations

You agree to:

• Respond to match proposals within a reasonable time (48-72 hours recommended)
• Be honest about your availability and interest level
• Reply "BUSY" if you are currently dating someone exclusively
• Treat all matches with respect and courtesy
• Follow through on dates you agree to
• Provide feedback about your dates when asked

User Conduct

Prohibited Conduct

You agree NOT to:

• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• Use the Service for commercial purposes without permission
• Share another user's contact information without their consent
• Create fake profiles or impersonate others
• Use automated systems (bots) to interact with the Service
• Attempt to circumvent security measures
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Send spam or unsolicited messages through our system
• Share inappropriate, offensive, or explicit content

Consequences of Violation

If you violate these Terms, we may:

• Remove your content
• Suspend or terminate your account
• Report you to law enforcement if illegal activity is suspected
• Take legal action to protect our rights or the rights of other users

Privacy and Data

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and sharing of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

By using the Service, you grant us the right to:

• Store and process your profile information
• Share your profile with potential matches (with privacy protections)
• Use anonymized data to improve our matching algorithm
• Retain message logs for service quality and compliance

Payment and Fees

Matchmaking Lab is currently provided at no cost to users. We reserve the right to introduce fees in the future with advance notice. While there is no fee to use Matchmaking Lab, standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply to SMS messages.

If we introduce paid features, we will provide at least 30 days advance notice and notify existing users via SMS or email.

Disclaimers and Limitations

We do not guarantee:

• That you will find a romantic match
• The accuracy of information provided by other users
• That the Service will meet your expectations
• Continuous, uninterrupted access to the Service

Meeting Safety

When meeting matches in person:

• Meet in public places
• Tell a friend or family member where you are going
• Arrange your own transportation
• Trust your instincts
• Do not share financial information or send money

Limitation of Liability

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so these may not apply to you.

Termination

By You

You may terminate your account at any time by:

• Requesting account deletion
• Opting out of SMS messages (which effectively ends service)

By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent or illegal activity, or if we discontinue the Service.

Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date and notify you via SMS or email. Material changes will be effective 30 days after notice. Your continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at (646) 347-5578 to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.

Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association rules. You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis and waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits.
